Planned Giving/Estate Planning
For more information on charitable gift planning, see the online Planned Giving Guide. There are many easy giving options from which you can choose — strategies that enhance your personal well being, as well as Carthage.
Charitable Gift Annuity
A charitable gift annuity has many benefits: It’s a gift to the College, an income tax charitable deduction, and income to you for life. Carthage has more than 140 charitable gift annuities in place with a gift value of about $4 million. We have experience with this kind of gift and a great number of satisfied donors. Annuity rates are determined by your age at the time the gift is made. Charitable gift annuities may be funded with cash, appreciated assets such as stock, or some other assets. Married donors may choose two one-life annuities, or a single two-life annuity, depending on their circumstances. Younger donors may choose to delay annuity payments for a period of years yielding higher rates. For more information, contact Jim Unglaube at 262-945-3024 or email@example.com.
Gifts of Stock and Securities
Donors may contribute securities, stocks, mutual funds, bonds and other investment vehicles to the College. Please call the Office of Institutional Advancement at 262-551-5703 or 800-551-1518 for additional information and to make a gift.
Gifts of Personal Property/Real Estate
Donors seeking a special home for a work of art, antique or collection may choose to make a gift of personal property to Carthage. Personal property gifts include collections, equipment, vehicles, boats, antiques, sculptures, written materials, and much more. Donors may also give gifts of real estate to the College. Please contact the Office of Institutional Advancement at 262-551-5703 or 800-551-1518.
Many companies encourage their employees to make charitable donations through a corporate gift matching program. The employer will match personal donations with a company contribution. Please contact your employer to find out if your company matches charitable gifts.
A pledge is a commitment to a single donation or a series of donations. By committing to making a series of donations over a period of time (months or years), you can be recognized as if you had given the combined total all at once. For example, a pledge to donate $1,000 annually for five years will be recognized as a gift of $5,000. To make a pledge, please print out this Declaration of Intent form and mail it to the Office of Institutional Advancement, fax it to 262-551-5973, or call 262-551-5703 or 800-551-1518.
Faculty & Staff Giving
Carthage offers a payroll deduction option for faculty and staff giving to the College. Faculty and staff may also give to the College in any of the above methods. Please contact Elaine Walton in the Office of Institutional Advancement for more information.
